My First SOLO project - My Bedroom!

I didn't tackle my own bedroom until July 2014.  I knew it would be a lot of work, and it was.

Again, I realize my "before" pictures are leaving a lot to be desired.  I have been doing much better with recent projects.  You'll see.  This was before we closed on the house.  Our room has an area rug, the South wall was a high-gloss red, and the other walls were stark white.  There was a country-ish border with dolls on it that stared at me while lying in bed.  The biggest issue, which you can't see from the picture is under these layer(s?) of paint was some 80s wallpaper with a border running about waist high around the room.  And you could see it under the paint, so I knew it all had to come off.

We got lucky that the summer was really mild for July, so I was able to keep the windows open during the whole project.  We had to move most of the bed into the hall to make room to move around, so I ended up sleeping on the mattress on the floor for a week or two while I finished.

The ceiling was in decent shape.  Just smoothed out some superficial cracks and repainted a bright white.  See below.

Fresh ceiling paint seen here.

Original wall light fixture.  Doesn't currently work.  Electricity scares me, so I will leave that to my Dad!
I thought the walls turned out pretty smooth for my first unsupervised job!  I have since given that window a fresh coat of stain, but I'm also starting to rehab them, which will take a LONG time, given I have counted 25 windows that need reglazed, restrung, painted and stained.
